A New Adventure
After 25+ years in Saint Petersburg where I ran for city council in 2013, I moved to Pensacola in June 2016 with my husband and our youngest son, Harrison. Although ~1/5 the population, Pensacola reminds me of my previous home with its scenic waterfront location, thriving arts community and baseball team (Blue Wahoos).
In my new role as the Tech Transfer Program Manager for the Doolittle Institute, I work closely with the Air Force Research Labs (AFRL/RW) scientists and engineers to patent and commercialize dual-use technologies developed at the labs. Like me, DI has a Tampa Bay connection – its Sofwerx facility in Ybor City.
A serial entrepreneur, I established a new company in Pensacola: Guided Particle Systems Inc. As the name implies, GPSI products guide and place material – light, ions, cells – in 3 dimensions to create novel structures and devices for the defense/aerospace, medical, consumer electronics and automotive industries.
While not seeking political office at this time, I proudly continue to live my platform of Economic Development, Education, Neighborhoods and Fiscal Responsibility through job creation and active community involvement.
